Have you ever heard this? If not, it’s CB-speak for “What’s your location?”

I’d like you to go to your website and pretend that you are not you. Pretend you are a potential client. Pretend you want to know what city your photography business is located in.

Look. Keep Looking. Look some more.

Did you find it?

I didn’t think so.

This is one of the biggest falldowns I see when looking at photographer websites. More often than not, there is NO indication as to the geographic location of the photographer.

Do yourselves and your clients a favor and update your website immediately.

Have a nice weekend!

  1. Funny thing! I've asked multipul people (both friends and non) to look at my website and see what I could add. I have purposely left out my location to see if others would notice and I have YET for anyone to say "you don't say where you are located" haha! Great story.

  2. Yay, I've been doing something right! I have a contact section on my website (easily found along the top of all of my pages), where customers can not only email me directly from the page, but it also has our street address, phone number as well as a link to our online booking system. 🙂

  3. Hi Christine, I have pointed this out hundreds of times for photographers that have asked me to look at their marketing efforts. Can you imagine getting an envelope with an invitation to a free session and no indication of where. You call the place and they schedule the appointment. You live in OHIO and they say, great we will see you tomorrow at 10am here at our studio in LA California. This IS the biggest fall down of photographer web sites. You wouldn't do it with a mailer, why do you do it with your web site. Good call.
